Joanne Mott

Joanne’s site-specific works develop by research that includes investigating place through historiographical, biological and mineralogical lenses. She approach the landscape as a multi-layered space and place that she excavate both conceptually and physically; artworks are sculpted variously from living plants and materials of the landscape itself.
Environmental problem solving through art practice is also significant to Joanne, and recently.  In her practice I attempt to re-imagine spaces so the viewer may discover new ways to consider our environment, with the hope of increased awareness and stewardship.

Joanne Mott will be exhibiting in the Ballarat Botanical Gardens.
