BOAA Connect is our education and community engagement program, offering a series of immersive activities, tours, artist talks and personal development opportunities. BOAA Connect is about engaging with a variety of age groups across all abilities, helping to build a more creative, intuitive society.
Art Camp - Artists in Residence
Art Camp will be the core of the BOAA Connect Program. Each week, two different artists will be on site creating large scale projects within The Mining Exchange. Students will be encouraged to participate and contribute to these projects. This will give students an opportunity to learn practical skills from practicing artists, as well as contributing to the art work of BOAA. As weeks go by, the completed projects will remain on site and build the story of engagement throughout BOAA.
The Art Gallery of Ballarat will house 10 significant solo exhibitions. Each state and territory, as well as Ballarat, will be represented in this significant regional gallery.
A self directed tour through this space will expose students to the diversity of contemporary Australian Art.

In addition to the Half Day Program, schools can extend their day by adding one of the following:
36 sculptures will be located along The Steve Moneghetti walking track that surrounds Lake Wendouree. The Lakeside Sculpture Walk is suited to all ages and abilities, it is entirely wheelchair accessible. Students will enjoy a guided tour of approximately 10 sculptures. Approximately one third of these sculptures will be accessible for touch and interaction. Students will be encouraged to engage with work.
The site of the former George Farmer Meats Factory offers an entirely different experience. The converted factory is home will push the boundaries of Australian contemporary art. Students will be led through a warrens gallery spaces, discovering a new experience behind every corner.
