Erin McCuskey - Ballarat
Erin McCuskey works with still and moving images, word and projections, mixing them like paints. Motion paintings all tarred with the same brush - feminisms, human rights, concepts of time and breaths of memory.
Erin loves how moving images, cine and digital, talk to each other through folds in time; memory has its own heart beat, a different rhythm for each of us, but recognisable to all of us. Heritage footage evokes a flutter of time that we can almost touch. Erin’s work sparks on cinematic styling’s that speak in ease of heart yet deny the hard work behind the screen.
In 1989 Erin established Yum Studio a bespoke media agency engaging audiences in creative media that is both thought provoking and entertaining. Her short films, installations and commissions have screened at White Night Ballarat, Museum of Australian Democracy at Eureka (MADE), Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF), Flickerfest, Indiefest, Gertrude St Projection Festival, Ballarat International Foto Biennale, numerous exhibitions, performances and collections.
