Joanne Mott - Victoria
Joanne’s site-specific works develop by research that includes investigating place through historiographical, biological and mineralogical lenses. She approaches the landscape as a multi-layered space and place that she excavates both conceptually and physically; artworks are sculpted variously from living plants and materials of the landscape itself.
Environmental problem solving through art practice is also significant to Joanne. In her practice she attempts to re-imagine spaces so the viewer may discover new ways to consider our environment, with the hope of increased awareness and stewardship.
