Lisa Anderson - Ballarat
Lisa Anderson works with the ideas and concepts in and around landscape. This practice strays across different intellectual pursuits initially working with the landscape as an element reflecting light, she then finds herself drawn into the shadows through the marks and scars on the topography. These forms were oft described through folklore as well as science. The stories people told of landscape and the shift to urbanization of our world seemed to bring up more playful elements stories and characters. The ghosts and spirits, the sprites and gods, trolls and faerie are part of a wilderness that becomes lost to us through population sprawl. Lisa creates images, video, photographs, sculpture and stories using many different materials from collage and drawing to domestic robot forms and neon and acrylic sculptures as well as video projection and ceramics.
